This little picnic table was looking very tired. I just gave a quick couple of coats of F&B Folly Green...a really nice soft shade of green...just need the Sunshine to come back so that I can use it!
I had this horrible dark brown computer cabinet...it was huge, which was fine in our last house but far too big for this one. We tried to sell it on EBay but failed. So clever Mr N who loves a bit of woodwork! chopped it up! and made this much smaller cabinet for my bedroom. Being very dark wood it did not go well with my other furniture, so it also got the paint treatment. This time in F&B Blackened. It is a bit softer on the eye now.It makes another nice little spot to display, I am always faffing around with my displays!
On Sunday we braved the winds and rain and went to Greenwich Market where I found these little broches. Two are Edelweiss and carved from bone and the other two, one with green glass and the other with turquoise. I can feel another collection starting!I am going to have a go at making some Bunting for the Camp. I bought a small remnant of oil cloth from Cath Kidston in Tunbridge Wells...such a beautiful old shop....and blue tape.
Da Dar....all done in flash. My first attempt at Bunting and not bad!I could not resist this ever so soft bath sheet, which was the perfect size to make a changing towel for our summer holidays! by adding a hand towel to the width it makes just enough room for me to be able to get in and get that cozy on!
And....at long last I have found the book was the inspiration for the title of my blog! Well I obviously had forgotten that this booked spelled Katherine with a ' C '....

Your blog just tickles me. The cabinet your husband chopped up is beautiful! What a great way to refurbish something. I have only four furnishings in our house that were new when we got them (dining room set, and couch and loveseat) everthing else has been "refurbished" Your bunting is great too.
Great furniture makeovers! I love the soft green shade of paint that you used. I like the display on the 'new' cabinet. I enjoy faffing around with displays too!
Is there stopping you woman?!
You have endless energy and inspiration for your creative projects.. I could certainly do with some of that these days..
What a beautiful book Carol and I can see why you loved it so much.. love those vintage illustrations.

Great painting makeovers and I love those pretty brooches.
It's great to get those little projects finished I like your picnic table the green is lovely and I think you've done a fine job of your bunting oh your camp is going to look even more prettier!
I've been getting lot's of painting bits done hence the lack of blogging!!
Gosh! You have been busy! I sooo want some bunting, but I won't buy any when I know I could easily make some. It's just getting around to it, as usual.
No wonder you love that little book, the pictures are gorgeous! Don't you just want to jump right into the pages.
So glad you liked my little girl bunnies, they are slowly evolving each time I make some. I spend hours trying to improve the faces, but I think I've finally cracked it! Just let me know if you want one.
Give Jude an extra squeeze for me. Fi x
Your blog is very nice! I like the way you change your table and cabinet and your new bunting! I'm Italian and passionate about decorating, flea markets and creativity! I love spending my spare time creating for my home and web-shop!
I hope to hear from you!
Have a nice summer!

I love the work your hubby did on the desk...it's lovely...how nice to have someone handy with woodwork living in lol...the table is great too...I think we call that moss green...so soft and relaxing...don't you just love the old books? I still have some of my old books from when I was child, too...guess that would qualify them as antiques, huh? Hugs to all Guy included

All lovely..I really like the Folly green colour.I love messing about with paint!;-)
Hi Catherine
I love the paint job on the table looks like a lovely colour, well chosen.
How great a book called "Catherines Dream", it looks lovely too and how lucky to hunt it down too x
You and your hubby have been busy! I like the idea of re-purposing the cabinet. I'm ashamed to say that my solution was to take such a cabinet (this very weekend!) and drag it down to the road, affix a 'free' sign and pray that someone would take it away. Some industrious person did just that and has probably worked your kind of magic on it. I'll have to come back here for inspiration next time!
Hi Carol
You have been one busy girl!! Isn't it amazing what a coat of paint can do? The bunting you made looks cute too!
Everything you turn your hand to looks beautiful. What an adorable little book. Gladyou found it again.
Hugs, Rhondi
Your hubby is very clever - the cabinet looks great now. Your bunting is also very pretty & I love the old book!
How lovely for your dream to come true with 'K'atherine, sweet little book. More visions of lovliness on the blog, the 'faffing' is definitely working! x
Wonderful paint makeovers - love the shade of green on the table. And your bunting in Cath Kidston oil cloth turned out fantastic!
I do like that soft green colour you have painted your picnic table with. It looks very pretty indeed. And how clever of your husband to rework the big cabinet, it looks very nice in your bedroom. As for the bunting, very jolly and summery. Well done.
