When Times Are Hard !

It has been both a hectic and worrying time in this household.....we seem to have hit a run of bad luck and Bad Falls (my Mum) needing stitches. Pneumonia (my cousin) which appears to be resisting the antibiotic's. Two bouts of Kidney infection (my daughter-in-law) - resulting in two stints in hospital on Morphine and huge amounts of antibiotic's and then a very lovely lady (my close friend and allotment buddy, Carole's Mum) suffered a very bad stroke.

My Aga broke down - good for the diet I guess!.....I had a Long List of problems at the cottage, including my Recycling Box's, Bag's and Bin's.... that the Council Bin Men cannot see! and a house full of boy's including my Son...needing lots of love, care and attention while Francesca recovers in hospital!
While all this has been happening, everything else just gets done as and when. But sometimes I just want to cry, then one of the boy's beams a smile and realise how lucky I am. I was able to slip out of the house for a morning while the boy's were visiting Mummy in hospital to do a very quick round of the local Charity shops...looking for Vintage Fair for my my stall ! the problem I have is that when I spot something I like and think will be great to take along to sell...I just do not want to part with it.
I found some weeks ago, a very dusty old Vintage Deck Chair in my Dad's loft.....super...that came home with me. I got the usual moan from Mr N...more rubbish to clutter the house! I bought this gorgeous Cabbages & Roses Linen material - perfect for 'My' deck chair.

Mr N agreed to paint the frame. Here it has just had it's primer coat and then will need one undercoat before I get to paint the F&B oil eggshell - the best bit - in probably Strong White.

From the same fabric shop, I thought this jolly Cowboy fabric would be great for our Baby Boy Bibs and Changing Mat Covers..
On the subject of cheeky little boy's...'my bunch'...from the left... Rocco who was 1 year in June....Jude now 4 months and Freddie who was 2 in June. Fred and Roc bathed, ready for bed and a night of 'let's keep Nanny and Grandad awake all night'.

My second Award this month. Heidi @ foxglovesfabricandfolly.blogspot.com/ thank you so much. While all this has been going on at home I did think I would have to take a Blog Break...but when good friends like you visit and leave such lovely comments, it really does help lift the spirit. So no Blog Break for me!

I want to give this Award to 3 Blogs that Always are a joy to read and their yummy pictures have always inspired me.....

Marja Kristina @ homefromheart.blogspot.com/ and

Julia @ vintageheaven.blogspot.com/ ps. I have not forgotten my tag Julia.

Love Carol xx

Hi Carol
Thank you for visiting my blog. I have sooo enjoyed reading your blog and looking at the delicious photos. I adore Lulworth Cove and your camp looked like the most stylish I have EVER seen!

I don't have any sewing boxes on my website at present, I have been saving them for the open house, but if you see one on my blog that you like do let me know :-)

I do hope things improve for you and your family. It's funny how things seem to come at us in batches sometimes.

What a terrible time you're having of it at the moment, I feel for you, but hopefully that's it all over and done with now. Fingers crossed. I love the fabric for the deckchair and all your finds, and what about those gorgeous men in your life, how scrummy are they? I'm glad you haven't taken a blog break though I love to read it. x

You seem to have more than a full plate. My belief is that we are never given more than we can handle and from all the difficult challenges we face there are many positive blessings.

What beautiful children and so close together, they will be good friends. You clearly are one devoted mother, daughter and friend.

Look at those boys, aren't they all just gorgeous. I am sure they didn't keep their Nanny and Grandad awake all night! The trouble with buying to sell is that I think we tend to buy what we like, thus not being able to part with it, I could never own a shop! Congratulations on your award, so very well deserved. Sending my best wishes to your family and friends, and of course to you too Carol. x

I hope things will be better for you soon. We had a spring like that. I told DH that the only thing he hadn't had in a two month period was leprosy. It was unbelievable but things are better and they will be for you soon I hope. Those are adorable kids.
Your in our thoughts and prayers
