Staying In With Miss Potter & Cold Comfort Farm

Stuff the hoover and the duster. I am staying in my boudoir, in the pj's with two good dvd's and lots of cups of nice english breakfaste tea- Twinnings and toast.

On the subject of bedwear.....it has to be long silky satin when I feel good!

long cotton jersey when I feel cute!

and red check flannellette when I feel childlike!

Today I feel childlike. Oh and not forgetting the bed sock's....cashmere, not for walking in only to lie on the bed in as they are too expensive to wear them out walking.

I am confessing to a sin, I actually feel a lot better! but thought that I would not let on to this fact but instead make the most of it and indulge myself - again!. This is becoming a habit and I am waiting for hub to lose his rag with me.........soon.

I lit the candles, left the curtain drawn, put on the tv and picked one of my favorite films....Miss Potter. I love this film and after I watched Cold Comfort Farm another good film, actually it was a tv programe put onto DVD. I would love to take on a farm like the one in the film and stay there.

You may have noticed the letters in my mantle - our initials - which I found in a lovely little shop in Dulwich Village London. Yes a village in London! a beautiful village too surrounded by grot. I did try to find my initial in the white painted wood to match the 'N' but they did not have one, so sadly I did have to put up with my initial being bigger and gold. I still like it though!

I am a whole day late with this post and now it is Sunday morning and I must get to bed. I am off the The Borough Market London in the morning for lunch. Have a lovely Sunday Girls and be a bit naughty and tell us about it!

If I had a boudoir like yours Carol.. I would not leave it very often and I would wear silky satin all day!
Today's confession.. It is 11.am and I have been for a long walk at least 4 miles (long for me) this morning along the local canal paths.. Came home glowing and invigorated.. had a hot bath.. put on my Cath Kidston flanellette dressing gown and climbed back into bed.. not sure when I will get up!
Hope you have a wonderful day out ... go spoil yourself!
Much love

Hi Carol, glad you're better now - I must admit to having overplayed being unwell this morning and stayed in bed much longer that usual - naughty but nice! I loved the Miss Potter film, I have been looking round for the DVD second hand but no luck so I think I'll have to order it from Amazon. Have a good week,

Congrats on the award Carol, very well deserved! Love to hear about your nighttime (and daytime) attire, I'm afraid it's just pjs all the time for me! Hope you're feeling better too, what a lovely room to lie in and recuperate. Love both of those films, funnily enough we've seen them both over the past few weeks. I love the farms on both of them.
Take care, enjoy those socks

Hi Carol- your bedroom is beautiful! (as are the cashmere socks..how very decadent!)My weekend confession? Travelling from The Cotswolds to London, staying in a hotel and rather than going out for dinner ordering steak sandwiches on room service. It was cold outside!!

Just sneaking a look at blogs in the lunch hour. My step son and his wife live in East Dulwich and I have a lovely meal in the cafe in the grounds of the Dulwich Art Gallery. The village is lovely and we were shown Tom Cruise's old house!! massive!! Cant get broadband for over three weeks - so much for technology!

Hi Carol
How are you? I just finished watching Miss Potter for the first time. What a delightful movie and oh the scenery is beautiful! We visited Hill Top many years ago and I can still remember the interior and how charming it was . I just loved the movie! Rene Zeillwagewr did a great job of playing Miss Potter.
Hope you're doing well. Have a great weekend.

Looks like you you have been making the most of not feeling well! And it is indeed nice to have some time alone, indulging in comfy bedwear and lovely DVD´s. "Miss Potter" has become quite a favourite for me too, I have watched it twice! And I would really love get hold of "Cold Comfort Farm" too (seeing that I kind of live on a farm too...).
