Happy New Year All & New Puppies Born On New Years Eve!

A Very Happy New Year To All.
I am really sorry I have not popped in to see many of you the last week or so and going away has not helped. I will try and get back on course by the end of next week.

If things are not hectic enough.........

I have two adorable Lakeland Puppies to hand rear!

Born on New Year Eve to my sons dog Morag.

They are on top of the Aga as they were so cold.

Morag had 7 puppies, much to our surprise, we were not expecting that many........too many for her to cope with.

I have brought two home to rear by hand, as sadly two died on the 1st Jan and we were worried that we many loose more.

I have called them Guy & Madonna - Maddy for short. They weighed in at 180gms and 190gms and have both put on 10 gms since birth........... they are doing well so far.

I feed them every 3 hours......they cry on time would you believe! I also have to stimulate their bottoms with cotton wool to get them to poo and wee! it works well........

So everything is fine at the moment.....fingers crossed.

Guy is the one with the milk around his mouth!
I will keep you all up to date on their progress.
I will 'hopefully' get to visit you all this evening after Johanna's
21st Birthday Celebrations..............!

Happy New Year to you and your family. What a wonderful start to 2008, new life! How does it feel going back to 3 hourly feeds! They are adorable and I'm sure you'll nurture them and they'll be big and strong very soon. It's really lovely to see the photos and I look forward to hearing more about them.

How adorable! Hand rearing is really hard work but what a feeling of achievement! Our Jack Russell, Toby, was hand reared & he is a real "people dog". Good luck with them & a happy 2008 to you & yours.

Hello Carol, first and foremost a Happy New Year to you and your family, I hope you had a good Christmas. What unexpected New Years guests you had, looks like Madonna is going to be the one who wears the trousers, funny that! I do hope the two continue to get strength with your care, and the other pups are doing fine with mum. Get that camera charged up, you will be needing it for updates on these two little adorables! When's the next feed! x

What little beauties they are. Have you checked with your local vet to see if there might be a new Mum or Mum in weaning that might help take on the rearing of these two? It would be worth a try...hope your 2008 will be a very content one, and you try not to overwork with the puppy rearing! But I agree, they're worth it!

So glad to see your back Carol and with two wonderful little friends.. they look so vulnerable but I am sure in your capable hands they will thrive.. I know if I showed these to a certain person, he would be begging me to adopt one! Who could fail to fall in love with such gorgeous little creatures.
I wish you my dear friend a very happy year ahead and one where I hope we can meet up..
Much love

Oh Carol, I'm so sorry about little Maddy, I know how you must be feeling. I lost my own dog 16 months ago, she was only 6, I still miss her terribly. Sending love to Guy and to you.

Hi, Happy New Year to you! And what adorable puppies...they're gorgeous, but such hard work. I remember when our Westie, Maisie, had pups...they were great fun, especially once they were mobile.
Your blog is really interesting...will be back to read more.
