The Allotment. The Pup. The Table Cloth !

It was so nice to get out of the house and onto the land. Fresh air and a good work out. Loosen up those tight muscles.

Carole, my friend since we were 4 years old...we have experienced life and all it throws at us...together and with lots of fun and laughter along the way.

Here we have arrived at The Allotment - Our Allotment...NO men unless by special request.

We have no shed, little hidey hole, a place to rest our tired bones when the sky's open.

Not yet anyway, but plans are underway, oh yes.

So at the moment the tools have to live in the boot of the car.
Our Plot....
It did not look anything like this when we took it over...so over grown and full of rubbish that been dumped on our plot over the last couple of years...from the other allotment people!!
I have cut the grass...I just have to make it look a bit tidy.
We have decided how we want to lay the beds out. At the moment we have three.
In the distance you can see the bare trees, this is where the fence is and this back onto the railway. The tree end is where our shed will live.... and the BBQ, picnic table....deck chairs!
I can see a little window with curtains.........dream on.
The wooden structure that is to the left is next doors shed...made from old wooden pallets and is very strong and well built. They also have the plot on the other side of ours and will be building another shed soon.
This family arrive by a lorry load and stay all day...cooking drinking and making merry. They grow mainly potatoes ! emmm.

This view is looking through the middle two lines of plots. It is quite a tidy site.
There are a lot of 'old timers' here but with the 'recent' interest in 'growing your own' there are quite few young families taking up plots...it is nice to see the children with their wellies and wheel-barrows having good old fashioned fun in the mud!

Next doors BBQ - behind their shed....they really know how to live life and eat well!
I am really looking forward to a few balmy summer evenings with my new neighbours.
I hope that they do not light that BBQ right next to their shed...

This is 'him' he only gets an invite as we need a bit of help to get us ready for planting.
'He' is far too bossy to have hanging around all of the time!

Carole - the other one....
She is a strong girl - ex police - and now a fitness trainer.
You do not mess with this one.
And....me!
I am the one with all the idea's. Do as I say - type.
That is after I have smothered you with kisses and hugged you breathless....
Did anyone see that programme on Reflexology ? well it is all in the touch. Not enough hugging going on in this country.

From the rear looking across to the centre of the plots.
We are now confirmed Land Girls and loving it.
Gosh it looks quite a mess...but wait until you see the 'After' pictures....
Sandi, here is is... the little Terrier.
This one is full of energy...eats like a horse...and terrorises everything he sees.
It is quite funny, the fact that he is still the smallest of all the dogs in my family does not phase him in the slightest and boy can he run FAST.
So ....that is is for today....
Land Girls by day and needle woman by night!
This is the table cloth that my sweet Mum started.
Mum had only just begun to embroider the green when she just suddenly stopped...just like that. She does not even recognise her beautiful work anymore....bless her.
It will be a very special table cloth for me ......
when I have finished it.

Happy Easter Everyone

A very happy Easter to all you lovely Bloggers who have taken the time to visit and leave a comment.
It has been a pleasure to meet you.
Your Blogs have been an inspiration to me and lovely places to visit with a nice hot cup of tea when the time has allowed me!
If I am a bit down in the mouth, a little trip to Blogland has always managed to bring back the smile and make me laugh.
Thank you.

And Now....
I returned home yesterday to find the Postmen had left a parcel for me....

The lovely Liz of Pretty Practicals, who on reading my last post had promised to send me a little bit of her favourite lotion for hands, had kept her promise.
It is great to get home and find a present all beautifully wrapped waiting for me.
Inside was some gorgeous Soap and a bottle of Pretty Practicals wonderful Hand Lotion.
This Lotion is truly a wonderful Potion for tired and dry hands. It smells of Lavender and sinks into the hands very quickly without leaving a greasy film!
You must go and visit Liz, see what other lovely items she has for sale.

Beauty Secrets And Things That Make Me Feel Good

I want to share a few of the things that make me feel good.
I love this little book of Make-up and magic potions for your face and body!
The packaging adds a real touch of 50's glamour to your make-up bag.
First thing is Soap.
I have been brought up with Pears and was a Pears Baby.
Plonked on the kitchen drainer as a baby by my sister - 16 years older than me - and given a wash down with Pears! I remember this so clearly as I really did not look forward to it.
She would have to sing to me and that kept me happy and quiet!
Hand creams.....lots of....
and this one by The Sanctuary can only be described as
'delicious' ...
the liquid soap to match has all gone!

Olive Hand wash.

This really does soften hands that do dishes and gardening !

Lovely sweet smelling soaps...not be used...only for smelling! Johnsons Baby Talc and more Lavender in the form of Bath Oil.

For my hair.

In the shower I keep my own special shampoo....when I can afford it!

This product is very gentle and smells gorgeous.
Otherwise it is one of these in the shower basket!

Cath Kidston Fans We Are!ok well some of us...!
Just going into one of her shops excites me. It brings back childhood memories.
Picnic's and Summer Holidays by the beach in a caravan or tent.
I could buy everything in this shop!
This is my toilet bag and make-upbag.

While out shopping with my daughter Katie, we had a little browse at all the lovely items on the Benefit section.
I had a peep into the mirror and omg...puffy eyes...too much blogging!
I tried a little of this cream and wow...I can promise I did feel it working.
I was convinced and bought myself a tube.
Just the packaging is enough to temp me anyway!

Hand cream again and this one is for me only.
A beautiful Lavender cream that softens and soothes!

I tend to look a bit pale in the Winter,
so a little brush across my cheeks of this lovely blusher and I have a healthy glow!
And Bad Girl Mascara....this one as it does not seem to clog and goes on nicely.

I have used all brands from the cheapest to the unbelievably expensive.
I have very dry and sensitive skin.
I am using this at the moment, it was recommended in a TV programme as it came out best and good value - you only need a little so it goes a long way.

Eve Lom
I was told to use this every week.
It is a lovely smelling thick sludgy green cream.
Full of natural ingredients and will exfoliate gently.
You get a little white muslin cloth to wipe it all off and this also helps with ridding your face of the dead skin cells.
Gorgeous stuff!
Always, always moisturise your body - all of it !
This great smelling cream is so good you cannot wait to rub it in after a shower or bath - yummy.
A nice little glass pot for my cotton wool.

And at the end of the day, this cream to clean your face before bedtime.

In the bath.
Sanctuary bath crystals and a think muddy cream that heats up on application!
Wonderful stuff!

Bedtime with my Roberts Radio and my pile of books.

A lovely Lavender filled pillow by my head.
Give it a little squeeze and it releases its wonderful aroma.

Night night.....

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Lakeland Puppies, Bad Hair Days and Bits and Bobs

It was supposed to be good morning, all good intentions anyway.
I was going to do so much..........did not happen.
I look out of my kitchen window and put on the kettle every morning, feed Guy ( Lakeland puppy) and George ( Choc Labrador) - Guy because he is a baby and George because he has to have two smaller meals as he is getting 'on' now.....I then try to plan my day.
Telephone rings...again!
Forget the plan and decide to go with the flow.............
These Green Bottles are one of my latest little finds.
All apart form the one next to the soap were quite cheap, only pennies, but the one next to the soap was £6.00....!!! yes I am mad......
Now this little fella was given to me by my Sister Jacqueline, or did I just take it!?!
I loved him so...I then went and married a policeman - was it a coincidence?!?
Time goes too fast.......
This was a real good find in the on-going Laura Ashley Sale!

A weekend in Broadstairs with good friends and a spot of bargain hunting resulted in this Flask.
I will use it...it is going to go with me to the allotment.

Daylesford Farm Shop.
This little wooden spotty heart came home with me !
after I had paid for it! lol
25 Years of Marriage.
My parents and my babies clubbed together to buy us these decanters.
The little table was from a lovely Pine shop in Mickleton - I had to paint it !
Farrow & Ball of course.

Kate Foreman 'Roses' again - I know.....
but they do cheer me up.
I was wondering if I should paint the gold frame ?

Little fingers love keys in key holes.
I have to take mine out before they disappear and now hang them out of reach!
These Hearts make excellent key holders....
Hard to loose them now!

Guy a few days old

Guy 10 weeks, 2 days.........

Guy is now 10 weeks and two days old.............
As I sat at my PC, merrily blogging away....I heard a little cry coming from the hall.
I tried to ignore it.....but it went on and on......
so I gave in and went to see why he was calling me.
There he was...
Four Steps Up!
and too scared to come down!
This was a first.....
Mum you know that I am not allowed on the sofa....
Dad is going to be mad with you!

Look at your hair Mum...
It must be this damp weather causing this frizz, mine is just the same.
Have a great week all...............
