It is all so exciting for Katie & Paul, their first brand new fitted kitchen.
I know that some of you love to see the before and after shots so thought that you may like to see Katie's kitchen.
The carpenter was there for 3 days. Basically the kitchen had been made in the workshop. The carpenter fitted the cabinets, then the oak work surface, plinths and shelving.
He done an excellent job.
The kitchen is hand painted in Farrow & Ball Shaded White - very similar to my own kitchen.Katie did not want tiles, just an oak up stand and the wall painted in Farrow & Ball Pointing - Modern Emulsion which is excellent for keeping clean!

A black Range Cooker has been fitted into the chimney breast, which had to be widened - Paul her Hubby is a builder so that was not a problem. The kitchen was completely re-wired, re-plumbed, re-plastered and new a floor and ceiling lights fitted.
This is the oak work surface being cut to size.

Mu hubby plumbed in the Belfast sink.........do you know the difference between a Butler sink and a Belfast sink?

Answer- The Belfast sink has an overflow as there was no shortage of water in Ireland where they were made. The Butler sink has no overflow because of the shortage of water in London!
Well that was what the carpenter told us and I have not checked this out yet.
Katie and her kitchen
See the twig Heart.........I bought........... as you have probably guessed anyway.
Katie is now 20 weeks pregnant if you enlarge this image you can see the little bump.... just about!
The oak shelves are still missing, they should have been fitted by the carpenter but he was not given enough oak to make them! always a glitch somewhere!
This is the 'larder' that houses the boiler in the top cabinet and the washing machine in the lower......it is made to look like a larder.
They still have a few little jobs to finish.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will have some Christmas decorations to show you.
